インドネシア在住のMr. Chin Honさんのコレクション。ってことで、例のごとく、氏から頂いたコメントをまずは再掲。
Ibanez Artist 2615E - No Serial Number
This is truly a rare production Artist which never made it to the
catalogues. I understand that a batch of 24 of this model was made and
tested for market response. As this was not a catalogued model (although
there was a regular production bass version) it had no model
designation. I have therefore put it as 2615E which is similar to the
2615 bass version except it is electric.
This guitar is in excellent condition and has an interesting history.
This guitar was apparently owned by a Japanese collector who sold this
guitar to a guitarist in a famous 70s band in Singapore. This guitarist
retired not too long ago and opened a music store. As he knew I was into
Ibanez guitars he offered me this guitar. Unknown to him, his partner
put up this guitar for sale on ebay and caused a lot of excitement.
Unfortunately, a lot of people were disappointed when he cancelled the
auction and sold it to me (as he had already agreed with me). My
apologies to the disappointed people but here it is and I am sharing the
picture of this guitar with everyone. By the way, there are still 23 of
this model to be accounted for.
で、一応、和訳しておくと：
Ibanez Artist 2615E - シリアルナンバーなし
これはArtistシリーズの中でも実にレアなモデルで、イバニーズのカタログにも掲載がなされなかったモデル。聞いた話だけれど、24本しか生産されなくて、しかもそれは市場の反応を見るためのものだったそうで...。カタログに載っていなかったということで正確なモデル名は不明。（ただ、2615Bというエレキベースは通常モデルとして当時のカタログには載ってたけど。） ま、そういう訳で、エレキベースかエレキギターかという違いはあるけれども、ベースにならって2615Eと名づけたいところ。
このギター、かなりのコンディション。そしてこのギターにまつわるちょっとしたエピソードが。どうやら、最初のオーナーは日本人のコレクターで、その人は、1970年代のシンガポールの有名なバンドのギタリストにこのギターを譲ったそうな。そしてこのギタリストはしばらく前に引退して楽器店を開き、そして私がイバニーズに惚れ込んでいることを知っていたんで、譲ってくれるという話になった。ところが、一緒に店をやっていた人がこのギターをe-Bayオークションに出品してしまった！ もちろん、多くの人が色めきたった。でも、その人たちには悪いけれど、出品は取り消されて、約束通り私に売ってくれたんだ。ま、そういう訳で今は私の手元にあるん訳で、その時にがっかりした人には申し訳ないけれど、この画像を公開するから我慢して欲しいなぁ。でも、言っとくけれど、あと23本はあるはずだからね〜！
って訳で、私のフィルターがかかるとかなり軽い調子になっちゃうなぁ...。（笑）＞訳文

う〜む...。このモデルについても、私、よく分かりません...。だけど、当時のエレキベースとの類似からの「2615E」というネーミングは頷けるものなんで、そういう扱いをしたいところです、はい。また、1976年からはヘッドが細くなったというのを信じ（？）、これも1974年か1975年のモデルなのでしょうね〜...。
